1.
Micro-thin Layer of Aluminized Film
The
micro-thin layer of aluminized film reflects up to 80% of radiated body
heat. This is highly effective in combating hypothermia.
Additional insulation can be added from natural or improvised sources
for enhanced performance, without fear of damage to the bag. It is so
effective at retaining heat, that no infra-red emissions are detectable
from a person in the bag. This enables the LAND/Shark, with the camouflaged
side out to be used for covert operations and survival evasion by the
U.S. military.
The aluminized layer is also radar reflective, providing greater detection
possibility in the marine environment by radar equipped search aircraft
and vessels.
2.
Composite Reinforced, Ripstop Material
The tightly woven ripstop reinforcing adds considerable
strength and prevents tears, a frequent critical failure in common
unreinforced thermal protective aids. Unreinforced products are easily
punctured and tear readily once punctured, rendering them far less useful
for heat retention in a survival situation.
Twin seams are doubly strong and watertight.
The seams cannot be easily torn apart, even when the user is wearing heavy
boots. This also helps to keep the elements out on land and in the water,
retains bodily emissions when they might otherwise attract predators.

Reversible, Orange Attracts and Desert Camo thwarts attention
The International Orange side helps to attract the attention of Search
and Rescue. The LAND/Shark's brilliant surface makes
an excellent emergency signal, readily visible from the air for over five
miles. With the bag slit on the seams and opened into a tarp, it
is visible for nearly ten miles. In the water, the LAND/Shark provides
a far larger and more easily located target than an individual alone in
the vast expanse of open water. It yields over 20
times the visibility compared to a person in a life vest.
The Official Desert Storm Camo side provides both
visual and thermal camouflage, masking the user from detection by any
conventional infrared visual search equipment, both aerial and
portable. Designed to provide thermal protection in survival mode, the
StealthBag also furnishes effective thermal cloaking in Evasion mode while
involved in SERE (Survival Evasion Resistance Escape) circumstances.
Alternative colors and camouflage patterns are available for Military
use by special order.
4.
Drawstring Enhances Versatility
The drawstring (which also serves as a tether) can be used to form an
adjustable protective hood or it can be closed up
entirely for maximum protection and heat retention. The friction
lock makes adjustment quick and easy, even with gloves on. In the water,
the closed bag can help to prevent the ingestion of sea water in heavy
seas.
5.
Integral Tether and Sea Dog Clip
The integral tether and Sea Dog clip allow multiple
survivors to easily link together to prevent drifting apart in a water
situation. This offers improved survival potential by presenting
an even larger, far more visible object for search and rescue to locate.
